Sparkles in the Sky

This story is too cute and I've been meaning to share it for a few weeks now.

A few weeks ago we had some friends over for a barbeque. There was no work the next day and Clara was having a lot of fun playing with the other kids, so we let her stay up late. Our little gal is usually in bed and asleep before the sun goes down and on this particular night we were outside in the backyard. The night sky was perfectly clear and beautiful when Clara came over to me, snuggled close and said "Mommy, look at the sparkles in the sky, they are beautiful". Sweet little thing had never really noticed stars before. Living out in the country makes for gorgeous star gazing and I enjoyed a few precious moments with my sweet Clara and wishing on the stars that my life is filled with perfect little memories like this one.

A Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

A couple weekends ago we took a trip to the pumpkin patch. It was a beautiful day and we had a great time with corn mazes, hay stacks, the petting zoo, and visiting with some friends.

Oh Yeah! Go Irish!

Whoa big guy! Stay back!

5 Months Old!

Here's our little man. Getting so big! Coltong has become a rolling machine, scoots around all over the place, and is miserable with teething. He's babbling and loving his baby food. We are enjoying watching Colton grow and Clara loves being a big sister.

Hey Mom, I think it's time for some new onesies - can't even snap this one!

Colton's First Tooth

It's here! Colton officially has is first tooth and it's his bottom right one. I felt it yesterday while he was gnawing on my finger. Not ironically, I'm sure, he had his first really good night sleep in weeks last night; didn't wake up once! Thanks little man!

Colton's First Baby Cereal

Last Sunday Colton got his first taste of baby cereal. It was such a big deal for Miss Clara. She was so excited that Colton was getting to eat food. We watched the video from her first time eating cereal and she was amazed. It went quite well. Our little man loves his baby cereal and is getting quite good at eating it.

Does this highchair make me look big, or what?

I get to eat yummy food AND play in this thing? Awesome!

Raspberries

Colton is having so much fun figuring out how to make noises and learning how his voice works. Here's a little video of him having a chat and blowing raspberries.

Surprise Lunch Date

Last Sunday we surprised Clara with a special lunch. Our friends, the Roos', were driving home to South Bend from a weekend in Alabama. They stopped in Elizabethtown to break up their trip and we met them at Burger King. They kids were so excited to get to play together, even if it was just for a little bit.

The Hungry Itsy Bitsy Spider

I'm sure it comes as no surprise that Clara loves to do what we do, but with her own flare. Check out this video of her doing the "Itsy Bitsy Spider" with Colton. She cracks us up!
