Fun in the Sun...Well, Shade!

Clara has a new favorite word, "pool"! I bought a little wading pool last week and Clara and I have been enjoying some splishing and splashing out on the patio this weekend. Every time she walks by the patio door she points outside and says "pool" with a giant smile on her face! She just looks so adorable in her little bathing suit with its little "ruffle butt". So, with a little water, some bath toys and a nice day we had the recipe for a fun afternoon today.

All ready to get wet and have some fun

Oops! I guess the water was a little cold as she tried to sit down.

The toothy grins are the best! She had just spilled water all down the front of herself

I know I've said it before, but I just love watching Clara's personality come through. She has developed some interesting preferences and quirks when it comes to playing. She loves wearing necklaces. She has some mardi gras beads that she wears around the house. But she can't always figure out how to put them on and will try to just hold them under her chin. Well, she does that with anything she can now! And she loves her froggie bag from Grandma Sharon! She puts toys and animals in and takes them out for minutes on end. Then she tries to walk around with it over her arm. The bag is about half the size of her so it's quite cute to see her manage it.

Is it a ribbon or a necklace? Hmm. Who cares, easier to play hands free!
Froggie bag, check. Princess phone, check. All ready to go!

Something about this one just screams "Rock Star"!

Clara had her 15 month check up last week. She had a major growth spurt! I knew she did! She gained 4 pounds and 3 inches since her 12 month visit. She is now 22 lbs 4 oz, 31 inches tall. When the nurse weighed and measured she proclaimed "Holy cow girl! Did you grow!" She got her MMR vaccine and a sucker! But she also took a spill in the exam room waiting for the nurse to come back for the vaccine and scraped her cheek on the side of the cabinet. Poor thing. I guess this is the age for battle wounds. She lost her balance yesterday at home too and has a little bruise on her eyebrow. She's got a little bit of time to heal up so she looks all pretty for Daddy!

Oh, did I mention Aaron will be home soon! Very, very soon! I can't post the window of dates we have but it's not too far away! We are so excited to be reunited. In the mean time I'm keeping myself busy with cleaning, job hunting in the Ft. Knox area and watching the Red Wings. Gotta love playoff hockey! We got our orders to move with the Battalion to Ft. Knox, KY. Don't have our individual orders with a date on it, but it should be sometime in Sept-Oct. I don't know about Aaron, but I'm so excited to be a lot closer to home and to be by family. My cousin and her family are stationed at Ft. Knox, too. It will be fabulous to have a friend there right from the get-go.

Well, this is getting a bit lengthy. Hope you like the format of this new website. It gives me a lot more freedom in regards to design and how frequently/ infrequently :) I can post updates.

She's such a cutie - it's so fun watching her. The web cam is great. Can't wait to see the three of you in person again - it won't be long now!! Love you all. Mom and Dad.
